In 2011 a rainy summer entices us to a spontaneous short break near Ölüdeniz on the Turkish west coast. In contrast to our habits, we booked an all-inclusive hotel. The location on the slope with a view over the sea is wonderful, but we realize very soon that the plenty of food and drinks and their careless handling by the holidaymakers does not correspond at all to our attitude.
And so we make every effort to escape the hotel area.

As we always feel at home on the water, we use the opportunity to explore the surrounding bays with a dinghy. The other day the ferry from nearby Fethiye brings us to Rhodes and a small beach bar becomes our daily fixed point for the sunset.

We will certainly not book an all-inclusive holiday anymore, but the clear water and the beautiful scenery awakens in us the desire to come back for a sailing trip along the coast. A dream that has to wait a bit.
